What Happens If You’re Not Ready on the Day Of?

A Knockout™ visit is designed to be focused, efficient, and finishable within a defined time block.

Preparation plays a big role in how much can be completed during the visit. When access or materials aren’t ready, it directly affects what can be accomplished.
Here’s what to expect if you’re not fully ready on the day of your Knockout™ visit.

Access Is Required to Start the Visit

At the scheduled start time, we need access to the property to begin work.
If access is delayed due to:
  • Locked doors
  • Missing keys or codes
  • No one available to provide entry
The visit time still begins as scheduled.
Lack of access may result in reduced scope or a no-show, depending on the situation.

Materials Must Be On-Site and Ready

If your punch list includes customer-provided materials, those items must be:
  • On-site at arrival
  • Complete and ready to install
If materials are missing, incomplete, or incompatible:
  • The visit time does not extend
  • Pricing does not change
  • Those items may be skipped or flagged
Time spent waiting on materials reduces the amount of work that can be completed.

Preparation Affects Scope, Not Time

A Knockout™ visit is time-based.
That means:
  • The visit does not extend due to delays
  • Pricing does not change if work is slowed
  • Scope may be reduced to fit the remaining time
The clock continues to run whether work is happening or not.

Common Readiness Issues

Some common issues that affect readiness include:
  • Rooms not cleared or accessible
  • Pets not secured
  • Furniture blocking work areas
  • Materials still in boxes or not assembled
Preparing these items in advance helps the visit stay productive.

What Happens If the Visit Can’t Proceed

If work cannot reasonably begin due to lack of access or readiness:
  • The visit may be marked as a no-show
  • Payment is non-refundable
This is rare, but it’s why preparation matters.

How to Avoid Readiness Issues

Before your visit:
  • Ensure access at the scheduled start time
  • Stage materials and clear work areas
  • Review your punch list and priorities
A few minutes of preparation can make a big difference.

Why This Policy Exists

Clear readiness expectations:
  • Protect the time block
  • Keep scheduling fair
  • Prevent awkward on-site delays
  • Allow visits to end cleanly
The Knockout™ system works best when everyone is ready to go.

The Takeaway

If you’re not ready on the day of:
  • The visit time still applies
  • Scope may be reduced
  • Payment does not change
Preparation ensures you get the most value from your Knockout™ visit.
